READ TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST TO SEE A VIDEO OF DOM AND EVAN OUT ON LOCATION!
We finally got a chance to go out and take a look at some prospective locations for our movie. Earlier this year, I met with the San Mateo Film Commissioner, Brena Bailey, who, based on my pitch for the story, suggested a few beaches on the peninsula south of San Francisco for us to shoot at. We narrowed her 10 suggestions down to our top 5 and went from there.
It was awesome getting to spend some quality time with my director discussing script revisions (We just completed an awesome one, btw.), swapping PA stories (Dom has a great one about Christopher Walken), and talking about crowdfunding (recording coming soon!).
We ate In n Out looking at the ocean. We forgot to sunscreen, then lathered up. We saw some goats. That was weird. Parking availability varied drastically. Some beaches were huge, some were small. Every beach had at least some people visiting it. One beach was cut off by a lagoon. I broke a flip flop. All in all, an amusing time was had and we got a feel for what it would be like to shoot a Thing on a Beach.
Here are our final thoughts at our final beach:
